The Itohkyuemon (伊藤久右衛門) Uji Matcha Daifuku (宇治抹茶だいふく), 6-piece set, has “Uji” in its product name, but the only origins we could confirm on the product page as ingredient origins are “made in Japan” (国内製造) for the kneaded white bean paste and “domestically produced” (国産) for the matcha stick. The page does not state that anything is from Uji. The product page also says that this is a switchover period for an ingredient change, and that the ingredient and allergen labeling may differ depending on when the product was made. In this article, we have organized the publicly available product information and review-site posts into five points: quantity, storage method and shelf life, ingredient labeling, suitability as a gift, and reviews. Whether noshi (gift wrapping label) or wrapping is supported could not be confirmed on the product page and is not confirmed.

Ingredients and Allergen Labeling

The product page says that this is a switchover period for an ingredient change, and that the ingredient and allergen labeling of the product that arrives may differ depending on when it was made. Because both the current labeling and the revised labeling are shown, this article cannot tell you which one will arrive. Please check the seller’s listing before buying, and check the food information label on the product when it arrives.

Five Things to Check Before Buying

Item to checkFor this productBasis
1. Quantity / servings 6 pieces (with a matcha stick). Number of people served: Not confirmed Product description field of the Rakuten Ichiba product page
2. Storage and shelf life Keep chilled (10°C or below). The use-by date is 3 days counting the shipping day, and the page notes that for distant destinations the day the product arrives is the use-by date Product description field of the Rakuten Ichiba product page
3. Ingredients and allergen labeling Because it is a switchover period, two labelings (current and revised) are shown side by side. Gelatin is listed only in the current labeling Product description field of the Rakuten Ichiba product page. For details, see “Ingredients and Allergen Labeling” above
4. Suitable as a gift? Mentions of noshi (gift wrapping label), wrapping and a message card could not be confirmed: Not confirmed Rakuten Ichiba product page (viewed October 12, 2026)
5. Review trends Rated 4.65/5 on Rakuten Ichiba (3,649 reviews). The trends are summarized in the “What Public Reviews Say” section (we read 119 reviews, and this does not necessarily reflect the current state of the product) Rakuten customer reviews (“Minna no Review”) (viewed October 12, 2026)

Suitable as a Gift?

We could not confirm from the product page whether noshi (gift wrapping label), wrapping or a message card is supported. Kinds of noshi inscription and wrapping options: Not confirmed. The product name lists occasion words such as uchiiwai (内祝, a gift to mark a celebration), return gift (お返し) and offering (御供), but these are separate from any statement that noshi or wrapping is supported. If you are considering it as a gift, checking the following points in the seller’s listing before buying makes mix-ups less likely.

  • Whether noshi, wrapping and a message card are supported (could not be confirmed on the product page)
  • The use-by date is 3 days counting the shipping day, and for distant destinations the day the product arrives is the use-by date (whether this fits the recipient’s schedule for receiving it)
  • Because it must be kept chilled (10°C or below), whether the recipient has room in their refrigerator

Among the reviews we read, many posts said it was used as a gift for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day or a birthday, or as a small gift to bring to coworkers (Source: Rakuten customer reviews, viewed October 12, 2026. This is within the 119 reviews we read and does not necessarily reflect the current state of the product).
